The Nexon recorded sales of over 23,000 units, representing a 52 percent increase compared to January 2025.

Its appeal spans multiple powertrains, including petrol, diesel, and electric, which has helped maintain its position in the compact SUV segment. Recent changes in taxation for sub-4-metre vehicles have also contributed to increased interest in this category.

In the Nepalese market, the Nexon is available in both ICE and electric variants. The electric version, Nexon K3.ev, is priced at Rs 47.49 lakh, while the ICE model ranges from Rs 50.99 lakh to Rs 59.99 lakh.

Other models also performed well in January. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire ranked second, remaining the only sedan in the top-selling list, largely due to demand in fleet and commercial segments.

The Tata Punch came third, selling over 19,000 units, including its electric variant. The Hyundai Creta followed in fourth place with nearly 18,000 units, maintaining its presence in the mid-size SUV segment despite growing competition.

January’s figures indicate that compact SUVs continue to be the preferred choice for many buyers in India, with models like the Nexon and Punch taking the lead.
